VI Peel

Nov 06, 2023

Peeling has never looked so good...

The VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that infiltrates the top layer of your skin and reaches the skin underneath. Through exfoliation, the skin is forced to produce new proteins that help treat the signs of aging while improving your skin’s texture and correcting any pigmentary concerns. The treatment is gentle, so you can use it just about anywhere on the body, and it is compatible with anyone’s skin type or tone.

VI Peel Treatment:

During the initial treatment, your esthetician will apply the VI Peel solution as two layers. The first layer may cause your skin to feel numb or tingly, while the second layer will brighten your skin. The peel will need to remain on your skin for four to six hours for its benefits to take effect, so you will wash it off when you are home.

Three days after the peel has washed off, your skin will peel. How long you will peel varies by each person, but you will likely peel for roughly five days. The VI Peel will deliver results, but not without some downtime, so make sure you schedule enough time for your skin to peel between your treatment date and any future events you have scheduled.

Benefits:

The VI Peel tackles various problem areas, such as:

Fine Lines And Wrinkles:

The VI Peel breaks down the top layer of your skin and stimulates your body’s natural healing process. With new collagen and elastin produced, which provide your skin with some much needed elasticity, repairing current wrinkles and preventing future fine lines from appearing.

Sun Spots And Skin Discoloration:

The VI Peel contains phenol, an active ingredient used to treat skin discoloration. So, the peel lightens aspects of your skin that may have darkened from sun exposure or other skin discoloration causes.

Keratosis Pilaris:

Keratosis pilaris is a common skin condition that clogs your hair follicles with dead skin. The VI Peel contains salicylic acid, which helps break down the skin bumps created.

Acne:

The VI Peel contains trichloroacetic acid (TCA), vitamin C, tretinoin, phenol, and salicylic acid to help kill bacteria and reduce oil production, inflammation, and clogged pores.

Side Effects:

After receiving a VI Peel, you may experience dry skin, some burning and/or itchiness, inflammation, and redness on the treatment area. Skin discoloration is likely for those who have darker skin, so even though the VI Peel can be used on any skin type or tone, it’s recommended you receive a consult before receiving the peel.

Preparation:

Within the week leading up to the VI Peel, avoid exfoliating your skin. With the peel being an in-depth exfoliation treatment, over exfoliating your skin can cause damage. It’s also recommended to avoid wearing makeup in the days leading up to your appointment to allow your pores to remain as clear as possible.

Aftercare:

In the following week after your VI Peel treatment, you will want to take extremely good care of your skin. Your esthetician will send you home with aftercare instructions and a small kit containing the products needed to keep your skin healthy and protected.

It is very important that as your skin heals, you do not peel the skin off yourself. Wait for the skin to naturally fall off to avoid damaging your skin and allow your skin to receive the best results possible.
