One of our best Anti-Aging treatments!
As we grow older, our collagen growth slows down. Without a sufficient amount of collagen in our skin, we lose our skin’s elasticity, causing our skin to sag. Microneedling has been used for decades to help stimulate collagen growth, but sometimes it’s not enough. Microneedling RF is the fastest way to achieve tighter, brighter, and more youthful looking skin!
What Is Microneedling RF?
Microneedling RF (MRF) stands for microneedling radiofrequency. Like standard microneedling, microneedling RF is a controlled injury cosmetic procedure designed to stimulate collagen, elastin, and capillary stimulation. Unlike standard microneedling, MRFinjects radiofrequency waves into your skin as tiny needles gently penetrate the top layer of skin. These radiofrequency waves enhance the effects of microneedling to rejuvenate your skin by treating wrinkles and fine lines, stretch marks, acne scars, scars from past injuries or surgeries, and loose skin on the body.
Candidates For Microneedling RF:
An ideal candidate for MRF is someone who is showing early signs of aging. If you are taking accutane, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or anticoagulants, this treatment is not for you. MRF is also not recommended if you have active cold sores, skin infections, moderate to severe skin diseases, a history of keloids, hypertrophic scarring, poor wound healing, and/or are currently or trying to get pregnant.
Preparation For Microneedle RF:
Before your MRF appointment, you will want to stop using any products that contain salicylic acid. This can often be found in facial cleansers, but it’s recommended to check all of your skincare products. To prevent potential bleeding and bruising, it’s best to avoid drinking alcohol or taking any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications or blood-thinning medications.
During the initial treatment, your esthetician will apply a topical cream to numb the treatment area before applying tiny wounds to your skin. With each prick, the needles transmit radiofrequency waves into the skin. Once completed, the esthetician will apply a microcurrent dual mask to help soothe your skin and eliminate redness.
Microneedling RF Side Effects:
MRF side effects will last for anywhere from a few hours to a few days. You’re likely to feel dry and itchy at the treatment area, and your skin may be a little red. There may be a chance you may find your skin scaling or swelling, and you may see a mild acne flareup or a cold sore breakout. If your symptoms last longer than a few days, be sure to contact your esthetician.
Microneedling RF Aftercare:
While there is minimal downtime, it is vital that you take care of your skin, especially during the first 24 hours. We recommend you do not wear any makeup, avoid exercising, and avoid direct sunlight. Afterwards, you can wear makeup and exercise, but you must wash your skin thoroughly afterwards each time to keep those wounds clean. While it’s best to avoid direct sunlight for up to 14 days, it is critical that you wear sunscreen when you go outside or even open curtains.
Microneedling RF Results:
Your skin will begin to appear more even and smooth after your first session, and you will continue to see results within 30 days. As more collagen is produced, the more you will see your desired results. However, for optimal results, you will want at least 2 to 4 sessions spread out every 3 to 8 weeks. After 3 to 6 months, you will see a difference in your skin. Your MRF results typically last for 1 year, but you may need occasional touch ups to maintain optimal results.
